Hong Kong Island Coastal Trail Challenge
There’s a new hiking trail in town! The 65km coastal loop of Hong Kong Island is made up of eight stages and is set to become as iconic as the Dragon’s Back. Along the way, you’ll take in the city’s greenery, heritage and stunning coastal scenery. Step your hike up a notch by signing up for the Coastal Trail Challenge. Simply register in either the Leisure or Racing categories and grab yourself a goodie bag as well as your chance to pick up some great prizes.

Gurudwara Khalsa Diwan Sikh Temple Reopens
If you’ve driven down Queens Road East, chances are you’ve noticed the scaffolding around this historic site (the original temple was established in 1901!). Now, the bamboo is down and the Gurudwara Khalsa Diwan Sikh Temple is ready to welcome visitors through its doors. Across the four floors, you’ll find a registered kindergarten, library, Punjabi language classrooms and support for the broader community through accommodation for new arrivals to the city and a free community kitchen for those in need. Keep your eye out for upcoming Red Cross blood donation drives as well as youth sports and cultural activities.

K!BO Apple Kicks And K11 Pop Up
We’ve long been fans of K!BO’s recycled leather shoes — this editor’s sneakers certainly got her comfortably through pregnancy and beyond! So, when a new line made from upcycled waste was announced, we had to see it for ourselves. Indeed, each pair of these unisex shoes is made from repurposed apple waste (left over from the juicing industry — who’d have thought?). The Hong Kong Dignity Institute has partnered with artist illustrator and mental health advocate Erin Hung to release a gorgeous new children’s book with a poignant message. The story follows the tale of four animals (based on Silaiwali dolls from a New Dehli-based NGO), who must accept their differences and come together as a team. Parents will appreciate the themes of self-compassion and embracing individual differences to turn them into strengths.

The Pets Garden is a collaboration between K11 and British outdoor lifestyle brand Barbour, which have teamed up to create an inclusive park for animals with a variety of different pet-friendly facilities.
